Spoke too soon!
This will raise a smile.
Was about to row ashore to explore my desert island and I fell into the oggin’! Bloody fool! Dinghy capsized and I lost into the depths HALF of one of the dinghy oars. Spent 4 hours this morning trying to recover it, including another freezing dip in the oggin’ but to no avail. I could see it but I couldn't reach it. I needed my son Adam. He's a diver you see and would have recovered it in a trice. Worst of all my camera and phone were in my pocket. Both dead!
So the trip ashore went for a burton. So did swinging in the hammock for an hour or two. I seem to have good days or bad days. I'd settle for a happy medium from time to time.
There's a moose loose aboot this hoose!
You'll never guess what swam across my bows this afternoon. You guessed! A moose. A big one too. And could he swim. He shot across my bows when he thought I might mow him down but I altered course after failing to get a picture with my pathetic phone camera (using my spare since the Blackberry drowned yesterday). He was on an inter-island crossing. Perhaps to a moose convention, you never know. I'll look out for some of his friends. He's bound to have some.
Found a glorious harbour this evening called Gosinos. Just three or four boats and a couple of guys refurbishing the sauna. They hope to have it ready for midsummer's evening. Big party apparently. Shame I won't be here. I scrounged a piece of wood off them. Just what I need for the cockpit to stand on to see over the sprayhood. Joycie will like that 'cos she's vertically challenged. But the best things come in small parcels. Must remember to tell her that!
