Things settling down

Toytown and I are about 50 NM west of Helsinki.  It might as well be 50,000.  There's not a boat or a soul to be seen. I’ve spent the night in one of the most beautiful places on earth in my book.  A rocky bay amidst a group of islands.  There’s just the cries of birds and the sound of water lapping against the hull to listen to.  Utter solitude. The sun is out, the sky is blue and I think I’ll sling the hammock on deck and spend the day here.  There's a SWAN of all things to keep me company.  He's asleep at the moment, head tucked well into his feathers. Swans like it round here.  Peaceful and virtually fresh water since the Baltic is not at all salty.  I wouldn't drink it though.

I eventually cured the overheating problem yesterday. I rented (nearly bought such was the cost) a bike and cycled to a Volvo agent who charged me Euro 3.90 for a 2mm long screw and another Euro 35 for a rubber impeller.  UK cost £10 maximum.  I could buy a large selection of small acrews for £3!  But I replaced the impeller and screw and the problem's cured.  Weight off my mind. Now it's time to relax.  I've pumped up the dinghy (my exercise for the day) and I'm going to take a turn around my own desert island.  Will put my boots on though, there are vipers around these parts. No brown bears though.  We won't see them until we're further north. Maybe I'll try some fishing a little later.  The idea of being self sufficient appeals.
